SPECIAL WEATHER OUTLOOK ON THE OBSERVANCE OF SEMANA SANTA 2026
(30 March – 05 April 2026)

The weather systems that are expected to affect the country during Holy Week or Semana Santa are the Easterlies and the Ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA).
Today until Wednesday (30 March – 01 April), the Ridge of HPA will bring partly cloudy skies over Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mt. Province, and Ifugao. The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with the possibility of brief rainshowers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening due to the Easterlies.

On Thursday until Sunday (02 - 05 April), the whole archipelago will have generally partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with chances of isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly over Mindanao and the eastern section of Visayas due to Easterlies.

Throughout the forecast period, light to moderate easterly to southeasterly winds will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon with slight to moderate sea conditions. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas.

The public is advised to avoid physical outdoor activities between 10:00 in the morning and 4:00 in the afternoon to avoid fatigue, heat cramps, and heat exhaustion. Drinking water regularly, taking breaks in shaded areas, and wearing light-colored clothing are also encouraged. Also, use sun protection like hats or umbrellas and avoid alcohol and caffeine as much as possible.
