SCIENCE IS FUN! DOST-PAGASA joins Regional Science, Technology and Innovation Week in Valenzuela Cit
The program commenced with the launching of several DOST-NCR projects as it was graced by the presence of DOST Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum, Jr., DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, and DOST-NCR Regional Director Engr. Romelen T. Trevalles. Also in attendance were PAGASA Administrator Dr. Nathaniel T. Servando, PAGASA NCR-PRSD Chief Engr. Lorenzo A. Moron, and Valenzuela City Mayor Hon. Weslie T. Gatchalian.
With the theme, “Siyensya, Teknolohiya at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Kinabukasan”, the three-day celebration features different activities including the technology exhibits, the Fiesta Bazaar, S&T Tours, Road show, hackathons, seminars, competitions and other innovation-centered activities.
DOST-PAGASA participated in the technology exhibit, featuring the Augmented Reality Terrain Flood Simulator and PANaHON Application, bringing weather, climate, and disaster risk information closer to the public through interactive and engaging experiences. Additionally, PAGASA Mobile Planetarium was also set up to provide participants with an immersive journey through the sky, featuring informative lectures and full-dome visualizations.
